Lido Key

Although Siesta Key gets plenty of attention for being named as the #1 Beach and having a television show named after it, most Sarasota locals look to Lido Key for one of the best places to play.

Although Siesta Key gets plenty of attention for being named as the #1 Beach and having a television show named after it, most Sarasota locals look to Lido Key for one of the best places to play. Nearby St. Armands Circle has a little something for everyone, with Pina Coladas at the Daiquiri Deck, Cafe Con Leche Martinis at the Columbia, and pints of beer at Lynch’s Irish Pub, but Lido is loved by the locals for more than just the beverages, food, and shopping. With its expansive beaches, beautiful parks, and assortment of amenities and accommodations, Lido Key has something for just about everyone.

Nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts appreciate that both North and South Lido have wonderful parks where they are able to enjoy a variety of trails through Florida’s gorgeous natural foliage, and both parks are connected by miles of beautiful beach. The public portion of the beach features a pavilion where visitors can get great bites to eat and a 25 meter pool for those who want to swim laps. South Lido is also known as one of the best places in the area to go kayaking, where people can get lost for hours in the numerous mangrove tunnels, and a great place to go fishing along Big Pass. And for a closer look at the fish, the northern part of the key is home to Mote Marine aquarium, where visitors can get up close and personal with a variety of fish, sharks, dolphins, turtles, manatees, and more.

In addition to being nestled up to St. Armands Key, Lido is also just a short drive from Downtown Sarasota, where residents enjoy the restaurants, shops, and theatres. Just to the north is Longboat Key, which features a number of golf courses and great opportunities for fine dining.

What most love about Lido Key is how quiet it is compared to Siesta. The Lido Key Residents Association works hard to keep Lido’s old Florida charm and it shows. Home to  hotels, motels and resorts, the island also features a wide assortment of residences for people from all walks of life. In addition to the condominiums, Lido offers mansions, bungalows, duplexes, triplexes, and other single-family homes, all within walking distance to the beach.

If you’ve had dreams of really soaking in the Sarasota sunshine, and want to live like you’re on vacation every day, Lido Key may just be the answer you’re looking for. Contact me today to explore what’s available and how you can become part of the wonderful community.
